Etymology: von Blumenthal Hesychst. 5f. suggested it is Illyrian for αἴθουσα. Latte thinks it is a corruption (but on three points?). Fur 197 considers a substr. word, comparing Κήλωσσα \/ Κηλοῦσα, mountain in Sicyon.
